Q1: Which government agency can issues criminal record check?
A1: There are places that issues the criminal record check:
City police, county sheriff's office, state police and
law enforcement agency; Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI).
Q2: How to obtain the criminal record check and what are the procedures to get it authenticated?
A2: Depending on where the document was originated, the
authentication procedures differ. Atlanta China Visa
Office usually provides full service from local notary
public to Chinese embassy/consulate authentication for a
grand total of $120. Authentication for FBI background
check generates extra charge.
Q3: I live in AL right now, Can I obtain background check in GA?
A3: Law enforcement agency accesses national database to
conduct individual background research which will be
used for employment purpose in China. Only small
percentage of job position requires FBI background
check.
Q4: I'm not in USA, can someone do background authentication for me?
A4: Yes, applicant needs provide Atlanta China Visa
Office a power attorney. Please send request to

Q5: How long will background check process take?
A5: Yes, the two statements can be either on the front
part of your diploma, or on the back side of your
diploma.
Q6: When I make copy of the document, can I remove the staple?
A6: No, the staple can not be removed once notarized and
authenticated or it will invalidate the document.
Chinese Consulate will refuse the document, if they
found there are empty staple holes.
